At Australian Skin Clinics, our buying power is significant. Therefore, we are able to offer the best value prices on laser hair removal, IPL and cosmetic injectables (muscle relaxants/anti-ageing injections/anti-wrinkle treatments and dermal fillers).

Sadly, the pricing of anti-wrinkle/anti-ageing injections is a controversial subject. Some of the “special offers” made by less reputable clinics are misleading and customers need to understand the different methods of pricing to be able to compare.

At Australian skin Clinics, you pay only for what you need. Due to strict regulations set by the Therapeutic Goods Act (TGA) it is against the law to discount an injectable treatment. The following signs should raise alarm bells when you are choosing which clinic to trust your treatment to.

A Loss Leader

Offering the service at cost price or less. These clinics are simply using muscle relaxants as a means of getting you into the clinic to up sell you another treatment. Obviously it must work, otherwise the clinics could not afford to do it, but invariably they are looking to sell you surgical procedures or high end non-surgical treatments.

Vouchers

A newer scheme involves the sale of vouchers for cut-price muscle relaxants. This is an intense marketing scheme where the clinic literally receives none of the money – it is seen as a “referral fee” to the advertising agent. This means the clinic must up sell to make money on the day (otherwise they are providing free treatments and will never stay in business). If the price sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!

Product Dilution

Even basic pricing can be misleading because the dilution of the product can vary from clinic to clinic. In addition, some injectors will routinely use larger dosages than really needed, which will of course cost you more, but larger doses do not always mean a better or longer lasting result.

The skill of the injector is more important than price. An efficient injector will achieve maximum result with minimum product.

Cosmetic injections require and artist’s eye, strong medical skills and a good understanding of what the client is hoping for. Our advice to anyone interested in cosmetic injectables is to find a good clinic and stick with them.
