One of the most common questions asked is, “does fat freezing hurt?”

The answer will depend on the individual, but for the most part, Coolsculpting® treatments are comfortable. Clients initially experience a burst of intense localised coldness, and as the area becomes numb, this sensation will subside. Suction from the vacuum applicators may cause pulling or pinching, and you may experience some bruising. Overall, the treatments are comfortable and, similar to visiting a hairdresser, some clients enjoy reading a magazine or checking emails during their sessions.

What is Coolsculpting®?

Coolsculpting® treatments use sub-zero temperatures to freeze fat cells while normal body tissues are unaffected.

How does it work?

Coolsculpting® Fat Freezing technology is non-invasive and concentrates on freezing stubborn fat cells. The system uses a smart applicator to target stubborn fat areas like muffin tops, love handles, inner and outer thighs and tummies. By generating vacuum suction followed by controlled temperature cooling, the frosty technology selectively cools fat cells, causing them to be destroyed.

The body then naturally removes the dead fat cells through its normal elimination process. Treatments are a much safer alternative to liposuction meaning, alongside exercise and a good diet, problem areas can be reduced without going under the knife.

How long does it take to see results?

Clients can expect to see results within 12 weeks, with progressive results on-going after only two to three treatments per area. Once the fat cells have been frozen and destroyed, they cannot return.

Is there a recovery period?

The non-invasive walk-in and walk-out appointments require no downtime, and clients can return to daily activity after their hour session.

If you’ve been working hard but diet and exercise have been unable to remove the last of your stubborn fat, contact your local Australian Skin Clinics for more information about Coolsculpting® Fat Freezing treatments so you can get your freeze on!
