What Are Supramaximal Contractions?
When exploring EMSculpt®, you’ll come across the term supramaximal contractions. This refers to the maximum level of tension a muscle can achieve during contraction—far beyond what you can achieve voluntarily during exercise.
EMSculpt® stimulates these intense contractions, enabling muscles to contract at this high tension and hold it longer, which builds and strengthens muscles effectively.
Each contraction lasts less than a second, delivering the equivalent of 20,000 squats, crunches, or curls in just one session. While the process is relatively painless, you may feel some muscle soreness afterward, similar to what you’d experience after a vigorous workout.
