How it works
The Renuva Non-Ablative Fractional Erbium Laser works by delivering thousands of tiny, controlled microscopic thermal zones (MTZs) to the skin.
Operating in fractional mode, this laser targets only a small portion of the skin with each pass—specifically less than 10% of the total treatment area. This focused approach creates precise, micro-injuries into the reticular dermis while leaving surrounding tissue untouched and free of risk.
The unaffected tissue around each microscopic thermal zone acts as a reservoir of healthy cells that assist in quick tissue repair. This promotes faster recovery times and allows the skin to rejuvenate with minimal discomfort.

Renuva Advanced Resurfacing is a treatment that needs to be performed regularly for best results. We recommend an initial course of 3-6 treatments spaced roughly 4 weeks apart with reassessment at the end. In between Renuva treatments, courses of Medi-peels and LED is recommended to optimise results.

Pre + Post Treatment Care
During Treatment
The skin may appear flushed and there may be warmth in the treated skin. Your skin will feel very hot, this will intensify and may persist for 6 – 24 hours post treatment. You may experience slight swelling and puffiness particularly around the eyes. This may be present for 1-5 days.
After Treatment
- Avoid the gym, spa and sauna for 24 hours.
- Avoid products containing active ingredients 7 days.
- Avoid direct sun exposure and exfoliation for 7 days for all treatments.
Note
Due to Radiation Regulations, we cannot treat anyone under 18 for advanced laser services. Alternative treatment options may be available. Please speak with your preferred clinic to determine the most suitable option for you.
- Avoid excessive sun exposure two weeks before and after your Laser Skin Resurfacing treatment.
- Fitz 4+ must be prepped on a tyrosinase inhibitor such as ARX Ultimate Serum or Balense Brightening Serum and SPF for a min of 2 weeks to minimise post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
- Cosmetic Aesthetic clients should leave two weeks between their last cosmetic aesthetic treatment and Skin Resurfacing. If you’re prone to hay fever or eczema, take antihistamine medication prior to treatment. A topical numbing cream is required 30 – 45 minutes prior to your treatment to make it more comfortable, which can be purchased in from your local pharmacy.

Use a gentle cleanser such as Balanse Gentle Skin Cleanser, & recovery cream (Balanse Recovery Cream) & SPF
Day 7+
Recommence exfoliating skincare & actives.

Most clients will begin to see results for redness after a completion of 2-4 treatments.
Renuva causes warmth and heat throughout the treatment. It can feel like a sharp pulse on the skin. This can be present on the skin after treatment for a few hours. Throughout the treatment, cool air will be used to manage comfort throughout treatment.
