It’s about enhancing your natural beauty.
Dermal fillers are designed to add volume, lift and symmetry to your face, giving you a refreshed and natural appearance. Most popularly used to plump lips and enhance the check bones, dermal fillers are a versatile treatment that can also be used to correct fine lines, smooth deep creases, restore volume and even reshape the chin and jawline. One of the most popular advantages to dermal fillers is that the results are instant – in just 30 minutes, you will be on your way to looking like the best possible version of you. How it works
Dermal filler is a naturally occurring substance.
Our expert doctors and registered nurses inject the aesthetic gel based treatment into the skin, to give you a natural looking result that does not affect your facial expression.
The aesthetic gel-based filler is based on a naturally occurring bodily substance, a sugar molecule. The function of this molecule is to bind water and act as a lubricant and shock absorbers in the parts of your body that are movable, as well as transporting nutrients and regulating your skin’s water balance. Dermal fillers revitalise and add volume to the treated area instantly by boosting this naturally occurring substance.
Optimising your results
Let’s work together to see the changes you deserve.
It is important to follow your doctor and nurse injectors pre and post preparation advice to get the best results out of your treatment. At your consultation, advise your injector if you are taking blood thinning medications (such as aspirin, warfarin or clopidogrel etc). Immediately post-treatment, apply ice frequently (5-10 minutes every half hour) for up to 6 hours. LED Light Therapy may be used to help reduce any swelling or bruising.
Dermal filler faqs
Do dermal fillers hurt?
The injections themselves feel like a slight pinch, and you may experience slight pressure or a ‘stinging’ sensation as the product is being injected. Depending on your personal pain tolerance and on the area, your practitioner may apply or inject a local anaesthetic to the to-be-treated area.
What areas can be treated?
Dermal fillers can be used to smooth away facial lines and wrinkles, create fuller lips and shape facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, and revitalise the skin. The most common areas treated are nose to mouth lines (the nasolabial folds), lips (adding volume and shape), cheeks.
How long does dermal filler last?
Duration depends on many factors, such as the individual’s skin type, skin condition, lifestyle and age – as well as the type and amount of product used. After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are normally recommended around every 6 to 12 months depending on the individual and the product used. A treatment of the lips can last up to six months.
What are the risks with dermal filler treatments?
Our most used dermal filler is the most scientifically documented dermal filler in the world, with comprehensive studies that support its efficacy. It has been used in over 10 million treatments worldwide during the last twelve years. Because the dermal filler resembles the substances that occur naturally in the body, the risk of allergic reaction is minimal. However, there are risks involved with any cosmetic injectable treatment and these will be explained fully during your consultation.
What brand of dermal fillers are stocked by Australian Skin Clinics?
Due to TGA guidelines, we are unable to advertise the brand names of prescription medicines such as dermal filler. We do however stock the leading brands of all fillers and when you have your consultation we can freely talk about the options available.
